“Let the beauty of what you love, be what you do.”

Zahid H. Ahmed, DDS, FAGD, FICOI
I have practiced in some of the Bay Area’s most prominent teaching hospitals in outpatient and operating room settings. Since my residency, my primary focus has always been on dental surgery, implantology, and prosthetics. I have had the honor of teaching students, residents, and fellow doctors in a variety of settings. I have worked alongside specialists and generalists to provide comprehensive interdisciplinary care, helping achieve optimal results for adult patients.
After working full-time in hospital based dentistry and surgery, I started a small private practice in Northern California. We grew the practice, continuously refining our implant protocols and systems. We recognized providing implants requires an entire ecosystem, with buy-in from the entire team. Successfully providing implantology requires an orchestra of coordination to include marketing best practices, streamlined treatment planning and scheduling, executing the procedure at a high level, and ultimately achieving great outcomes for patients. Through research, trial, and testing, we created systems to deliver dental implants in a predictable, efficient, and productive way. We incorporated the latest technology from digital scanning and virtual planning to 3D printing.
Having now sold and transitioned away from practice ownership, I am dedicated to teaching and mentorship. I’ve worked with general dentists and specialists to overcome challenges they face in private practice, solving problems and collaborating to create solutions. I love teaching fellow doctors the subtitles of dental surgery, and helping them find confidence to practice surgery with efficiency.
